The Iraqi people owe us

So says our Commander the thief.  
I saw this quote via a blog today at the Information Clearing House. Tim Dunlop wrote the commentary within which he links the transcript of Bush's 60 minutes interview, that is published at Mother Jones Magazine

PELLEY: Well, that the United States did not do a better job in providing security after the invasion.

BUSH: Not at all. I am proud of the efforts we did. We liberated that country from a tyrant. I think the Iraqi people owe the American people a huge debt of gratitude, and I believe most Iraqis express that. I mean, the people understand that we’ve endured great sacrifice to help them. That’s the problem here in America. They wonder whether or not there is a gratitude level that’s significant enough in Iraq.  

What exactly do the Iraqi's owe us gratitude for?

For destroying their cities with wholesale bombing?

For raping their children and murdering the witnesses?

For the destruction of basic utilities necessary to a decent life in the dezert climate?

For investing in our own permanent military bases rather then the restoration of decimated cities?

For overunning their country with our contractors and mostly dismissing their own?

For ensuring that their children live in terror of being maimed or killed?

For making their country a waste land of Depleted Uranium?

For that fact the conflict we instigated, has created over 650,000 casualties?

For imprisoning them without due process and subjecting them to Torture?

OH yes, Mr. President the Iraqis owe Americans a tremendous debt.  But HOW will they repay it?  How would you?
