7,173,466 dead americans

Fri Apr 13, 2007 at 02:40:52 PM PDT

That would be the number staring out at you from every news outlet in the country. It would be on the lips of every single american you came in contact with. It would be the reason you and I were heavily armed.
7,173,466. All dead at the hands of our former "liberators" turned occupiers. How do you think that would sit with americans?

BentLiberals stunning graphic depiction of how many Normandy sized cemeteries it would take to hold the 655,000 Iraqi dead got me to thinking what percentage of Iraq's population that number represented and how that would translate in comparison to the population of the United States. More below the jump.

According to census reports the population of Iraq is 27,328,938. The 655,000 Iraqi deaths since our invasion and occupation of that nation show that we are responsible for the deaths of 0.02396726869% of their population. No biggee for a wingnut, kinda small number really. Hell, I bet they'd even support a tax increase on that top 1% if it were only .024%
The current population of the US is approx. 298,894,413. Take that * .024 and you get
7,173,466. Seven Million One Hundred Seventy Three Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Six That is a lot of fucking people. That's 143,000 from every state in the union. Would you be throwing flowers at our "liberators"? Or sniping at them from a blown out building every chance you got? Would you be glad some foriegn nation finally came and removed George Fucking Bush and put a stop to his madness, or wish they had left us the fuck alone to sort it out for ourselves?

What have we done.

On Sept. 12, 2001 Bush announced what has become his mantra,

"This  will  be a monumental struggle of good versus evil.  But good will prevail".

Then on September 13, after declaring it a day of National Day of Prayer and Remembrancefor the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks, Commander assmunch himself, surrounded by an ancient Billy Graham, a Cardinal, a Rabbi, and an Imam, delivered a sermon, saying:

Just three days removed from these events, Americans do not yet have the distance of history.  But our responsibility to history is already clear: to answer these attacks and rid the world of evil

In the coming days he would start to refer to his new calling as a crusade.

In this unprecented event, bush became the first president to issue a declaration of war from the pulpit.

War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder.  This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger.  This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others.  It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing.

It's my belief that in doing so he cemented his percieved righteousness of his crusade into his mind forever. This is a guy who thinks G-d directed him to take this path.
Ever since that day the "war", and every version of it, and the reasons for it, have become the Sacred Story. Any questions, any criticism, any departure from the crusade has been met with hostility and the admonishment that this is a post 9/11 world.
Nothing will stop this lunatic. Nothing. I still don't understand why every day here many of us act surprised by the latest outrage, the newest revelation, of just how insane and downright mean this man is.

I know it's great fun mocking the moron in chief, I enjoy it as much as the next guy.
Let's face it, he's a natural dufus.

But let's not forget who this man really is, under his good'ol boy, class clown facade. He is a mass murderer, he is the destroyer of our constitution. He is no friend of freedom, no supporter of our troops. He cares only about his crusade, his drug addled dry drunk brain caught in a loop of fantastical delusions, where he and only he is the spokesman for G-d.
His narcissistic view of the world does not include you and I, nor the poor, nor the people of color in this world. His loyalty is not to this country, but to the elites of his circle and his devine calling to eradicate brown people evil.

He also stated that day from the cathedral:

This world He created is of moral design.  Grief and tragedy and hatred are only for a time.  Goodness, remembrance, and love have no end. And the Lord of life holds all who die, and all who mourn.

I don't know about you, but I haven't seen boy george mourn for anyone, let alone 655,000 dead Iraqi's. I wonder how we would feel if the show was on the other foot.
This is the face we should remember.

I honestly don't know how much more of this I can take. If the blood of 655,000 people doesn't wake joe american up I don't know what will.
I hope to G=d it doesn't take 7,000,000 dead americans.

peace out brothers and sisters.
