When Barack Obama is Elected President

Here are the top five things that will make me happy when Barack Obama is elected president.
I was going to go for a top ten, but I would've been padding. I spoze others will have better ones to offer than I could've thought up ennywhey.
- Prez speeches will be something to look forward to. (Hearing Bush speak has been making me feel ill for years now, I have to turn off the radio or change the station.)
- The world will become a better place --america will be both less hated and less deserving of hate. America will become a better place too.
- The DLC will sink into the swamp of time. Our party will no longer feel impelled to be shills for multinational corporations and we can have a real democratic (like, um, for the people) agenda instead of repug lite. This impacts #2 as well.
- Hillary will be just a senator from NY and perhaps, in time, I can have some respect for her again. I really used to (pre the war) like her and (pre super tuesday) respect her. Without the need to feed her blind (and deaf) ambition she may well return to being the woman who wrote "It Takes a Village" and bury the one who snipes ducks and ducks snipers.
. . . and, maybe the best of all . . .
- We may never have to listen to Carville/Matlin again. Without Clintons or Cheneys in power they won't have enough cred to get any significant air time.
(This was what inspired this train of thought. I had to turn of MTP this AM because I kept giving them the finger and that wasn't a productive and positive way to spend my time.)
