Families want accountabililty, NOW

Many of us have made the observation that IF being a tortured prisoner is going to be McCain's major claim of experience, then the United States military is operating a leadership college in Guantanemo.
That we allowed Bush to suspend the Geneva Conventions AND the US Constitution in the prosecution of the WOT will be forever the height of hypocrisy and disputed source of ill-will for generations.
And the entire Eisenhower prophecy about the dangers of allowing the military-industrial complex so much influence on policy is John McCain's Achilles Heel.
We have heard wild proposals coming from John McCain's teleprompted remarks, like kicking the rejuvenated Russia out of the G-8. We have the You-Tube gaffes like "bomb bomb bomb Iran".
John McCain, of all 535 Congressional members, should have been loudest in his indignation of Abu Graib.
That he gave Bush any leeway at Gitmo or at CIA programs at the Bagram Air Force base is NOT an indication of leadership. That is collusion.
The entire Vietnam veteran contingent of Congress should have been not only listening to General Ricardo Sanchez' troubles AND letting the taxpaying public in on the concerns. We shouldn't hear the "protests of the generals" only after they have retired. That is suspicious.
There are serious indications of incompetence, profiteering and obstruction being made by experts of policy and administration. My only son and daughter-in-law emerged from Iraqi Freedom unscathed, my point of view is biased from their insights into the misuse of resources.
And this Friday my only nephew Michael graduates from Parris Island bootcamp, so a whole new worry will keep our small family intensely involved in the prosecution of this fiasco.
When he was 14 I bought him a paperback copy of Howard Zinn's "People's History of the United States", which he always says is one of the biggest influences of his young opinion. So I trust he is keeping the propaganda properly tamped down.
That Michael reports in his letters a true Obama-favor amongst his Marine recruit bunkmates, that non-commissioned political donations and opinions have been dominated by Obama and Ron Paul, needs to be broadcast. There was a "GI Joe" dark humor going on when McCain had his Bagdad marketplace moment, which never reached public attention.
Michael's grandmother, my 80 year old mom, writes him weekly, she left this morning with my brother's family for her second boot camp graduation ceremony this upcoming Friday. He then gets 3 weeks leave, and we are all going to cherish that time.
But we are sincerely pissed off by Bush's incompetence and McCain's going along that same yellow brick minefield.
McCain instills little confidence for us as Commander in Chief, and since he he can photoshop a Gen. Petreus moment to fundraise, we should be bringing those Generals like Sanchez to the podiums and questioning his entire premise of leadership and experience.
No more stupid flag pin questions, we want to know why General Sanchez's opinions were quashed until 2008. Ask the kind of questions Zinn exposes. That is transparency in action.
Pin McCain down on Bush's fiasco in the desert. McCain has sons in this fight, and I cannot how can he can be so two-faced about allowing Bush to break the back of the armed forces.
It raises serious questions about HIS competance.
That MSM is not taking a realistic boots on the ground measurement means they have been co-opted by the military-industrial conspiracy Eisenhower warned about.
